Foreign Company Representative Office (FCRO) in Indonesia allows foreign companies to establish a presence in the country without engaging in direct business activities. To set up an FCRO, the following requirements must be met:

  • Chief Representative: This person, who can be a foreigner or a local citizen, will oversee the office’s operations in Indonesia.
  • Activities: The FCRO cannot generate revenue or sign contracts. The activities are limited to non-commercial tasks like market research, promoting the parent company’s business, and coordinating with local partners.
  • Office Location: The office must be in a commercial space, and the lease must comply with local regulations.
  • No Capital Requirement: An easy and cost-effective way for foreign companies to explore the Indonesian market.

Foreign Company Representative Office Process

  1. Application Submission
    Submit all required documents to BKPM or OSS (Online Single Submission)
  2. Document Verification
    Document verification by Indonesia’s Ministry of Investment / Investment Coordinating Board. They will check the completeness of the documents submitted and verify the information submitted by the applicant
  3. Issuance of License
    If the application is approved, Indonesia’s Ministry of Investment / Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board will issue the FCRO License.

Important Notes

  • If the applicant does not enter Indonesia within 90 days, they must re-apply for a new visa, which comes at an additional cost.
  • Seven Stones Indonesia is not responsible if applicants are not able to enter Indonesia within 90-days after the E-Visa is issued.
